JOB TITLE: General Administrator

Job Type: Full Time Basis / Hybrid (may be required to work from different company sites and or from home as instructed or by agreement with line manager.)
This position is advertised on the above basis as to meet the growing demand for our products and services, we are expanding our team to meet our customer requirements.
Summary:
The General Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the office. This role involves handling a variety of tasks related to organisation, communication, and clerical functions. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Office Management:
- Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
- Coordinate office maintenance and repairs.
- Organise and maintain office files, both physical and digital.
- Oversee the cleanliness and organisation of the office space.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to management and other staff members.
- Help with on boarding new employees, including preparing workstations and inductions.
- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other correspondence.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and other documents.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, and data entry.
- Clerical Duties
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
- Perform general clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
- Manage and maintain the company’s databases.
- Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
- Customer Service:
- Greet and assist visitors, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
- Address customer inquiries and provide information as needed.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and service providers.
- Project Assistance:
- Support various projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
- Assist in compiling data and preparing reports for internal and external use.
- Assist in coordinating events, workshops, and other company activities.
Company Compliance

Essential Criteria:
- Must have a full UK driving license as frequent travel between sites is required.
Training and CPD
Everyone must undertake training that has been identified for their roll by the company.
You will be required to familiarise yourself with colleague roles to provide complimentary cover as instructed by your line manager.
You will be required to perform any reasonable request by your line manager.
Education and Preferred Qualifications:
- GCSE or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Power point).
- Business degree or business-related NVQ.
Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar administrative role, preferably within the construction industry and with minimum 3-year experience.
- Experience in office management or customer service is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong typing and numeracy skills, data entry, and computer-based record -keeping.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanour.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
Working Conditions:
The General Administrator typically works in an office setting but may also occasionally spend time on site. They may be required to wear personal protective equipment if visiting certain areas of the site.
The role follows regular office hours, which are typically Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. However, longer hours, weekends, or irregular hours may be required during financial and or other reporting periods or when department deadlines are approaching.
Physical Requirements:
Physical fitness to walk, climb and navigate uneven terrain.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary Band – £20,820.00 to £23,500.00
Refer to the contract of employment for agreed salary and benefits.
